Business information requirements

Providing Legal Information When Selling to EU Customers

If you sell to customers in the European Union (EU), you are required to display clear legal and business information on your Gumliz storefront. This is a legal requirement under EU consumer protection laws and a condition of the Gumliz Seller Agreement.

Note: Sellers are fully responsible for ensuring their listings and business information are legally compliant. If you are unsure which regulations apply to you, please consult independent legal counsel.

What Information Must Be Displayed

Depending on your business type, the following information should be added:

If You Operate as a Registered Business

Your storefront or shop description must include:

  • Your business name and legal structure (e.g., LLC, Inc., GmbH)

  • Registered business address

  • Contact email and phone number

  • Address for customer complaints (if different)

  • Business registration number and VAT ID (if applicable)

  • Name of your authorized representative

  • Share capital (if applicable)

  • Any other legal information required by local law

If You Sell as an Individual

You must include:

  • Your full legal name

  • Personal or business address

  • Contact email and phone number

  • Any additional mandatory information under applicable law

Where to Add This Information on Gumliz

Since Gumliz uses WooCommerce, sellers must manually add this legal information in one or both of the following locations:

  • In the “Store Description” or “About Seller” section of your shop page

  • In a custom text block or notice displayed in every product listing description

This ensures your information is publicly visible and accessible to EU buyers, in compliance with EU consumer law.

Reminder

Failure to display the required information may result in account suspension or removal of your listings. Please ensure all legal details are up-to-date and easily visible on your store.
