At Gumliz, we’re building a trusted space where people can buy and sell books with respect and transparency. Whether you’re a casual reader or a longtime seller, your participation shapes the quality of this community.

By following these guidelines, you help us maintain a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.

Respectful Communication

• Treat all users—buyers and sellers—with courtesy. Behind every message is a real person.

• If you have a question or issue, reach out respectfully through the messaging system on Gumliz.

• Gumliz Support is here to help if something goes wrong. Contact us early so we can better assist you.

• Any form of hate speech, harassment, discrimination, or bullying is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.

• Keep all communication related to your transactions within the Gumliz platform to help protect your safety and privacy.

Account Use

• Each user may maintain only one Gumliz account.

• Do not misuse discount codes or create multiple accounts to take advantage of promotions.

• Choose a shop name and profile information that is appropriate and respectful—this is a space for all ages.

• Gumliz is currently available only for users based in the U.S.

Honest Listings

• Always provide accurate and complete descriptions of the books you’re selling. Wear, notes, or markings should be clearly disclosed.

• Use real and clear photos showing the actual condition of the book—stock images are not allowed.

• Books obtained from free community programs (e.g., Little Free Libraries) should not be listed for sale on Gumliz.

• Learn more about book condition categories such as New, Like New, Good, Fair, etc., to help buyers set proper expectations.

Off-Platform Transactions

• All sales must be completed through the Gumliz platform. Soliciting or accepting off-platform payments is not allowed.

• Never share personal contact details for deals outside Gumliz. This helps ensure everyone’s security.

Book-Related Merchandise

• Gumliz is a marketplace for books. Do not list unrelated items such as clothing, gadgets, or general merchandise.

• Book-related items (e.g., bookmarks, stickers, literary-themed art) are allowed, but they do not qualify for Media Mail and must be shipped using standard shipping labels.

• We also welcome zines, journals, magazines, comic books, and graphic novels.

Privacy and Safety

• Keep your personal information private and do not share sensitive details with other users.

• If someone asks you to continue a transaction off-platform or requests unrelated contact info, do not engage—report it to Gumliz Support.

• Report suspicious activity immediately to [email protected].

Violations of Guidelines

• Violating these guidelines or engaging in suspicious behavior may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of your account.

• Gumliz reserves the right to take appropriate action depending on the severity and frequency of violations.
