Gumliz Seller Expectations and Guidelines

Welcome to the Gumliz seller community!
By listing books on our platform, you play an essential role in building a reliable and vibrant marketplace for book lovers. To ensure a smooth experience for both sellers and buyers, we’ve outlined the following expectations and guidelines:


1. Honest and Accurate Listings

Clearly describe your books.
Always select the correct condition and mention any issues such as broken spines, handwritten notes, page tears, or cover wear. Be detailed and transparent.

Use original photos.
All listings must include at least one photo of the actual book. We encourage additional photos from different angles to give buyers a full view of the book’s condition.

Set fair pricing.
Price your books based on their condition and market value. Make it competitive and reasonable.


2. Shipping and Packaging

Ship on time.
Please ship your orders within 3 business days of receiving them. If any delay arises, inform your buyer via message.

Package carefully.
Ensure your books are packed securely to prevent damage. Recycled materials are welcome if they are clean and in good condition.

Lost shipments.
If a book is lost during delivery, sellers are still eligible to receive payment. However, if we can’t verify shipment, the payout may be withheld.


3. Issues and Returns

Report handling.
Buyers can report issues within 3 days of receiving a book. When this happens, Gumliz holds the payment while reviewing the case.

Returns.
If a book is significantly different from its description, sellers may be required to accept a return. We aim to resolve such cases without a return when possible, but it’s not guaranteed.

Wrong book sent.
If the wrong book is shipped, Gumliz will assist in arranging a refund or exchange.


4. Communication and Professionalism

Respond promptly.
Reply to buyer messages and questions as quickly and clearly as possible.

Be respectful.
Maintain a professional tone in all interactions. Disrespectful or aggressive behavior may lead to account suspension.


5. Additional Policies

Only list what you own.
Drop-shipping and pre-orders are not supported. Only list books that you have on hand and are ready to ship.

Do not list community books.
Books from free community libraries (e.g. Little Free Library) are not allowed for resale.

All sales must stay on Gumliz.
Attempting to take transactions off-platform is prohibited and will result in account suspension.

Cancellation abuse.
If you cancel an order due to unavailability, you may not relist the same item at a higher price. Misleading cancellations are not permitted.

What you can sell.
You may list book-related items such as comics, magazines, bookmarks, and literary merchandise.
Unauthorized fan fiction, photocopies, and PDFs are strictly prohibited.


By following these guidelines, you help build a trustworthy and enjoyable space for all Gumliz users.
If your activity goes against any of the above, your account may be suspended from selling on Gumliz.
