Gumliz Listing and Shop Guidelines

Creating clear, accurate listings and maintaining a trustworthy store

At Gumliz, our goal is to build a friendly, safe, and efficient platform where people can buy and sell books with confidence. To support this, we ask all sellers to follow the guidelines below.

📚 Listing Guidelines

1. Real photos of the product
Each listing must include at least one original photo of the actual book being sold.
Stock or internet images are not allowed. We encourage sellers to add multiple angles so buyers can clearly see the book’s condition.

2. Honest and detailed descriptions
Your description should clearly state the book’s condition and mention any of the following if applicable:

  • Bent corners, cover tears, or cracked spines

  • Writing, highlights, stains, or missing pages
    The more transparent you are, the less likely buyers will request returns.

3. Use relevant hashtags
Include at least one accurate and relevant hashtag in your listing description to improve search visibility.

4. Eligible items only
You may list:

  • Printed books (new or used)

  • Magazines, comics, notebooks

  • Book-related accessories (e.g., bookmarks, postcards)

You may not list:

  • Photocopies or PDF versions

  • Unlicensed fan fiction

  • Items not related to books

5. Keep all transactions on Gumliz
Buyers and sellers must complete all communications and transactions on the Gumliz platform. Attempts to take sales off-platform may result in account suspension.

🏠 Shop Setup and Management

1. Clear and trustworthy profiles
Each shop should include:

  • A profile photo

  • A short bio that shares your reading interests or book specialties

2. No external links
You may not promote external websites, social media pages, or other shops to redirect sales away from Gumliz.

3. Book Condition Categories (Gumliz Standard)

ConditionDescription
NewUnread, flawless, and still in original packaging if applicable. Like buying directly from a bookstore.
Like NewRead once or handled gently. No marks, folds, or wear.
ExcellentIn great condition with minimal signs of use. No major flaws.
GoodMay have minor damage or wear. Still fully readable. Small notes or spine wear allowed.
FairNoticeable damage like watermarks, missing dust jackets, or markings. Still readable.
PoorMajor damage: missing pages, broken spine, heavy stains, or unreadable parts.

📌 If your book is not in perfect condition, be sure to upload clear photos of any flaws.

⚠️ Additional Reminders

  • Do not list books with hate speech, discrimination, or explicit violence.

  • Do not create listings just to promote or announce sales.

  • All listed books must be in stock and ready to ship.

  • Books with graphic or suggestive covers may be hidden from the homepage.
